Aluminium Electric Gates Questions

Every question we get asked about aluminium electric gates, answered straight.

Questions

How It Works

  • Are aluminium gates suitable for electric openers?

Yes. Aluminium leaf weight is consistent, which makes motor sizing straightforward. The motor is specified to match the gate before ordering, so the automation runs smoothly without being over- or under-powered from day one.

  • What happens if I delay replacing a failing gate?

A gate that sticks or fails to close fully leaves the entrance unsecured. Motor strain from a misaligned gate also worsens over time, turning a straightforward fix into a full motor replacement.

  • Is a swing gate or sliding gate better for my driveway?

It depends on available space. Swing gates need clear arc room in front of or behind the gate line. Sliding gates need run-back space along the boundary. The site survey measures both before a configuration is recommended.

  • What does the installation include?

Supply and fit covers the gate leaves, motor, control panel, safety sensors, and remote handsets. A full opening and closing cycle test is carried out on site, and the powder-coated finish is checked before handover.

  • How long does installation take?

Most residential aluminium gate installations are completed in a single day. Jobs requiring additional groundwork or a new armoured power supply may need a second visit, which is confirmed at the survey stage.
